- What makes Wallace Stories different from other personalized children's books?
- Unlike fill-in-the-blank books that just swap in a name, every Wallace book is written and illustrated from scratch. You tell us the story you want, made up or real, a lesson or just for fun. We turn it into a one-of-a-kind 30+ page hardcover, made just for them. Not a template.
- How long does it take to create a Wallace Stories book?
- It takes about 5 minutes to tell us about your child. After that, our creative team creates your unique story and illustrations. Printed books typically ship in about two weeks.
- What age range are Wallace Stories books designed for?
- Wallace Stories books are designed for children ages 2-8, written for their age. Younger children (2-4) receive simpler stories with more visual storytelling, while older children (5-8) get richer plots and vocabulary.
- Can I include family heritage and cultural elements in the book?
- Absolutely! Celebrating family heritage is core to Wallace Stories. We ask about cultural background, family traditions, languages spoken, and values you want to pass down. These elements are built naturally into the story and reflected in the illustrations.
- Where do all our books live?
- Together, in your Family Library. Every book you make stays there, so the collection grows one story at a time. Sign in whenever you like to reread an old favorite or start the next one.
- What is the quality of the printed book?
- Wallace Stories books are professionally printed: 8.5"×8.5" hardcover format, 30+ pages on high-quality matte paper, with a durable matte laminate cover. Built to be read hundreds of times and still look great on the shelf.
- How are the illustrations created?
- Every book is written and illustrated new for one child, from what your family shares and in the style you pick. AI helps us write the story and paint the illustrations. Then a person takes over: every page is read, refined and approved before it prints.
- How much does shipping cost?
- Shipping for the Hardcover is calculated at checkout based on your address. Books are printed and shipped to the U.S. and the EU. Full details are on our Shipping & Returns page.
- What is your return policy?
- Every book is written and illustrated from scratch for one specific child. If your book arrives damaged or with a printing mistake, email melissa@wallacestories.com within 30 days and we'll send a replacement at no cost.
- Can my child's disability or assistive technology be part of the book?
- Yes, and it's one of the reasons we started. If your child uses a wheelchair, hearing aids, glasses, an AAC device, a feeding tube, a walker, or a service dog, it shows up naturally in the illustrations, drawn the way it actually looks in their life. The same is true for disabilities you can't see, like autism or ADHD.
