Your family's stories are sacred. This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect when you use wallacestories.com, how we use it to create your books, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Your contact details. Your name and email address when you create an account, sign in, or place an order.
- Your book details. Everything you share so we can create the book: your child's first name, age, appearance, pronouns, heritage, interests, the people in their life, and the stories and memories you write in your own words.
- Photos you choose to upload. Adding photos is optional. When you do, we use them to create your book's illustrations.
- Order information. Your shipping address and order history. Payment is handled by our secure checkout provider, and we never see or store your full card number.
- How you use our site. Basic analytics, like which pages are visited, that help us make the site better.
How we use your information
We use what you share to create your book's story and illustrations, to print and deliver it, to run your account and Family Library, and to email you about your orders. Marketing emails are separate: you only receive them if you say yes, and every one includes an unsubscribe link. We never sell your information.
Your photos
The photos you upload are used to create your book's illustrations and are stored securely in your account so you can use them again for future books. We never use your photos in our marketing without your explicit permission, and we never sell them. If you'd like your photos deleted, email melissa@wallacestories.com and we'll remove them.
Children's privacy
Wallace Stories is built for adults: parents, grandparents, and gift-givers. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Everything we know about a child comes from the adult who places the order, and we collect only what's needed to create that child's book.
Who we share information with
A small set of partners help us make and deliver your books, and each one receives only what it needs to do its job: secure payment processing at checkout, professional printing and delivery, secure cloud hosting and storage, email delivery, and site analytics. We may also share information if the law requires it. We never sell your information.
Your choices and rights
You can update your details anytime from your account dashboard. You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing melissa@wallacestories.com. We respond within 30 days. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime, and you can control cookies through your browser settings.
How long we keep things
Your account and Family Library stay as long as you want them. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your information, we delete it, keeping only what the law requires us to keep (like records of completed orders).
Security
Your information is encrypted in transit, stored with trusted cloud providers, and access inside Wallace is limited to the people who need it to help you.
